#096 – “When Shit Hits The Fan” Podcast with myself, Duncan Epping!

Duncan Epping · May 6, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Episode #096 is a cross-post of the When Shit Hits The Fan Podcast episode. I loved the conversation with Johan and Jeff, and I hope you get something out of it as well! You can listen via Spotify (https://bit.ly/3GFTUTy), via Apple (https://bit.ly/4iSiUEh), or anywhere else you get your podcasts! Or just use the embedded player below.

#094 – Discussing SAP HANA support for vSAN ESA 8.x with Erik Rieger!

Duncan Epping · Apr 7, 2025 · Leave a Comment

Recently Broadcom announced that vSAN ESA support for SAP HANA was introduced. Erik Rieger is Broadcom’s Principal SAP Global Technical Alliance Manager and Architect, and as such I invited him on the show to go over what this actually means, and why this is important for customers! Listen to the episode on Apple (https://bit.ly/42AKWze), Spotify (https://bit.ly/4j1Jo7r), via the player below, or your favorite podcast app. Make sure to like and subscribe wherever possible!

Unexplored Territory #091 – Discussing performance with Ravi Soundararajan!

Duncan Epping · Feb 24, 2025 · Leave a Comment

This is probably my favorite episode in a long time. Ravi is just such an enthusiastic and charismatic person to talk too, and on top of that he has a deep understanding of everything vSphere/vCenter and performance. If you want to hear more about tagging, vCenter limits, bandwidth for vCenter, then this is the episode to listen to! What a show!

Unexplored Territory Episode 087 – Microsoft on VMware VCF featuring Deji Akomolafe

Duncan Epping · Dec 16, 2024 · Leave a Comment

For the last episode of 2024, I invited Deji Akomolafe to discuss running Microsoft workloads on top of VCF. I’ve known Deji for a long time, and if anyone is passionate about VMware and Microsoft technology, it is him. Deji went over the many caveats, and best practices when it comes to running for instance SQL on top of VMware VCF (or vSphere for that matter). NUMA, CPU Scheduling, latency sensitive settings, power settings, virtual disk controllers, just some of the things you can expect in this episode. You can listen to the episode on Spotify, Apple, or via the embedded player below.

Unexplored Territory Podcast Episode 067 – Introducing Rubrik!

Duncan Epping · Feb 6, 2024 ·

You may have noticed it already, but the Unexplored Territory Podcast kind of pivoted. Instead of having two co-hosts we recently decided to only have 1 host and a guest. We noticed that during our conversations with our guests things became a bit more challenging when there were multiple hosts, and we hope that this small tweak makes the content easier to digest for you (the listener) as well. I recently sat down with Rubrik’s Jerry Rijnbeek to discuss not only introduce Rubrik, but more importantly discuss acronyms like “DSPM” (Data Security Posture Management), and how this helps customers in this age of ransomware. I hope you enjoy listening to the show as much as I did recording it. Thanks Jerry for your time and sharing your knowledge.
