Customization specifications fails during entering password

Duncan Epping · Apr 8, 2008 ·

For some weird reason the customization specification wizard in VirtualCenter 2.5 fails when entering the administrator password. The error: An internal error occurred, and the wizard is unable to store the administrator password securely.

After reinstalling VirtualCenter the error still occurs. I googled the error and stumbled upon this VMware KB but this did not solve my problem…. I’m lost, anyone?

Strange…

That’s strange I just noticed that a blog was posted that I did not actually publish…. Let’s hope it’s not a bug in WordPress and just me pushing the wrong buttons.

Novell also creating a standalone hypervisor

Duncan Epping · Apr 8, 2008 ·

According to eWEEK, Novell is also busy creating a stand alone hypervisor to enter the XenServer, Hyper-V and ESX(i) battle. It will be Xen based and in my opinion a smart move considering they bought Platespin and already have a management tool called Orchestrator. It’s a shame they are a few years late, they should have bought Xenserver when they had the chance… or even Virtual Iron. Anyway we will just have to wait and see,

Novell Chief Technology Officer Jeff Jaffe hinted at a stand-alone hypervisor product during his keynote address at the BrainShare conference in March, saying one of Novell’s goals was to make SLES 11 available as an appliance that would be supported by a new tool set designed to quickly build specialized images.

Just upgraded to WordPress 2.5

Duncan Epping · Apr 6, 2008 ·

I just upgraded to WordPress 2.5. Very easy as expected and it the admin pages look amazing, still have to find my way through but I think it definitely is an improvement. Only thing that seems to be missing still is a decent “tag” option, would be easy if I could just pick the already used tags again…
