For those looking to start configuring hardware for VSAN / Virtual SAN infrastructures, the VMware Compatibility Guide just got updated!
VMware VSAN Beta HCL updated: http://t.co/oCop26WrDs#vsan @PunchingClouds @wholmes

Personally I find the new section on disk controllers very useful as it shows whether the controller is supported in SAS / SATA / RAID-0 or Pass-through. I can’t wait for the first VSAN Ready Nodes to pop-up. Note that VSAN is not GA yet, so I expect the HCL to be expanded even further over time. Just like to say: Nice work Dell, it looks you folks are really making an effort getting your hardware certified.

My wish lists for the HCL
Intel 910 (Higher endurance rating than the 3700, and PCI-Express with 2 LUN’s make it nice for having a single card to serve 12 disk groups).
The LSI 3008 (Going to be the controller used in any new SuperMicro build out).
Duncan Epping says
I suspect that the LSI 3008 will be added, but not sure about the Intel 910.

Any update of the HCL for the LSI3008/3108 ?
Zachary says
Any idea if the HP 1.3TB HH/HL Value Endurance (VE) PCIe Workload Accelerator (763834-b21) will be add to the HCL? I have it inside the DL380 Gen9 server and it’s not compatible yet with the VSAN. However the new HP h240r smart hba controller works well with the VSAN.

Is the new HP h240ar smart hba certified for VSAN? Can´t find it on the HCL?..
Zachary says
The h240ar is not on the HCL yet but in fact it works when I turn on the VSAN cluster. But the 763834-b21 not working with VSAN. Anybody have any suggestion? Thanks.
