#125 – Announcing the VCF Inspector Fling featuring Alan Renouf!

Duncan Epping · Aug 17, 2026 · Leave a Comment

I noticed a blog post about a new fling called VCF Inspector last week, so I had to invite the author Alan “Inspector Gadget” Renouf to the show to talk us through it. VCF Inspector, in my opinion, is one of those tools that will be very valuable for everyone working with VCF, but especially for consultants and people managing many different environments. It kind of reminds me of RVTools, but mind you it is nothing like RVTools. The reason it reminds me of it is because it is a binary that can run standalone on your desktop and you point it to SDDC Manager or the VCF Installer. Just listen to the episode (Apple, Spotify), and download the tool via the link in the blog post! I have tested it out in my lab, and have already found it very valuable, and provided some feedback to Alan. Alan mentioned he is happy to incorporate all the feedback and suggestions he has, so try it out and drop him a note!
