VMworld session on vSphere Metro Storage Cluster on youtube!

Duncan Epping · Nov 16, 2013 ·

I didn’t even realize this, but just found out that the session Lee Dilworth and I did at VMworld on the subject of vSphere Metro Storage Clusters can actually be viewed for free on youtube!

There are some more sessions up on youtube, so make sure you have a look around!

    Hi Duncan,

Really good stuff and well explained. I am just lucking the storage part of all that.
What Arrays do support non-uniform storage clusters (besides VPLEX)? Do you have any good links that explain how does it work?
From the presentation from VMworld the storage is kind of the Blac BOX – it simply works.
I am real curious what is happening behind the scenes when the RW LUN fails and there is a switch of RO LUN to RW mode.
How does the ESX host know which LUN should be contacted. Is there any special software needed?
For SRM you would use some kind of storage controlling software… but nothing like that is mentioned in the presentation.

    Regards,
    Konrad
