VMware has just released patch 3 for vMA and it contains several security fixes so make sure to update your Management Appliance! Here’s how to do it:
# sudo vima-update scan # sudo vima-update update

William Lam just updated two of his most popular scripts. If you haven’t looked at them yet, make sure you do as they are worth it. ghettoVCB(g2) enables the backup of virtual machines residing on either an ESX or ESXi host. ghettoVCBg2 is a complete rewritten and enhanced version of ghettoVCB or as William puts it “harder, better, faster, stronger”.

VMware vSphere Management Assistant (vMA) Patch 01
For those running vMA (previously known as VIMA) patch 01 has just been released. You can find all the details in this KB article. Updating the appliance when the proxy has been set up can be done on the command line by typing the following command:
sudo vima-update update
