scorelord.. what server manufacturer and model are you running? I have the same problem with 3 HP DL580G4’s, I’m wondering if it’s make/model specific or just a 3.5 issue.

4x HP DL385 G1’s. Alledgedly, it’s since 3.5 update 1. Place your bets on thread http://communities.vmware.com/message/932729. However, HP ManagementAgent 8.00A is nog working for me either.

    Hi,
I am using vmware esx server 3.5 update 2. After installing the esx server, the boot process hangs after these two messages:

    ipmi_si: Trying “smic” at I/O port 0xca9
    ipmi_si: Trying “bt” at I/O port 0xe4

I do not receive any other message after this. It just hangs. Do you know what these two messages mean? I am installing esx server into a sun box.

    Thanks again.
