Both 64 bit and 32 bit Windows 2003 guests are supported with MSCS.

VMware seems to have ditched the product name “3i” and silently introduced “ESXi”. I noticed it when the download page was updated today. But you can also read it on the “product section” of the VMware website. I think this is a better name instead of differentiation in versions, keeping the versions alligned and changing [...]

According to this new KB article there’s a backdoor for ESX3i:
Log in to your ESX Server 3i at the console.
Press Alt+F1 to switch to the console window.
Enter unsupported to start the Tech Support Mode login process. Note that no text will appear on the console window.

VMware just released 9 patches for ESX 3.5 and 1 for ESX 3i! You can download them here for 3.5 and here for 3i.
The patch for ESX 3i fixes the following:
ESX Server 3i hosts using more than two processor sockets cannot be licensed when using host-based licensing.

I just noticed that VMware released a new version of ESX 3i on the 10th of January. The current build number is “70348″ and the previous was “67921″. It’s just a minor update:
